As frustrated as I was with how the bill turned out compared how it could have been, it's still vital that it passed as soon as possible.
This is also a huge political victory for Obama, who ended up singing a bill extremely close to the one he requested.
pretty much bad luck for Barack that the economic collapse occurred exactly when it did, because it forced his first major course of action. on the other hand, maybe since he didn't have to dive headlong into ending the wars, he'll be able to move towards that with more public support than if it was his first act.
