Regardless of what you think about Colin Powell, and there's reason to think rather poorly of him after his work within the Bush administration, his statement of endorsement presents one of the single most articulate arguments for voting for Barack Obama available. Agreed. As a surrogate he makes a great case why any pragmatic person couldn't really vote McCain in good concisenesses.

Lots of people think he's a respectable figure, and that's all that matters now. I agree with Sirota's take that this doesn't really help Obama as much as it hurts McCain. And man does it hurt McCain.
