Wonder why Obama would see cutting Social Security as a shrewd PR move and raising taxes on the rich as controversial? This is the media he's trying to please. Actual poll from the Washington Post earlier this week:
Notice anything missing?
Maybe "The Economy"??? Maybe "9.4% Unemployment"???
Fucking morons.

I like the disclaimer at the bottom.
ReplyDelete"The results of this poll are roughly meaningless. Please ignore this poll as if it never happened. Anyone who knows statistics will." -what they should have said.
THEY'RE DOING SCIENCE WRONG AGAIN. ON THE INTERNET. IT IS MY RESPONSIBILITY TO WHINE AT THEM ON A TOTALLY SEPARATE WEBSITE THAT THEY WILL NEVER SEE.
ReplyDeleteThe poll is even further from representative now that they've added "Job Creation" halfway through without noting that it was added after a number of results were already in. It's just plain completely invalid at this point. Forget uniform sampling method, the question they're asking changed halfway through.
Compare these two questions:
"How much do you like puppies?" 1-5 (with one highest)
versus
"How much do you like puppies?" 1-6 (with one highest)
Now you display the results in both cases as having come from a six point scale (with responders in to the first not being able to vote for 6) and suddenly the first group likes puppies more than the second, despite no actual difference existing between the samples.
And that's more analogous to the problems they'll have with ALL OF THE OTHER RESPONSES, from introducing a new rank that responders weren't allowed to put things in before. Forget trying to place the new option somewhere on that new scale.
They AT LEAST need to show separate results from before and after the change was made. The current method is just plain fraud.
