Watching the debate on CSPAN, it was painfully clear that there are only five or ten people in the senate who are competent enough to vote on something like New START. The ignorance of incredibly basic facts, and the willingness to talk condescendingly and at length about the issue anyway, was astounding.
ReplyDeleteFor real, they spent a whole day whining about the treaty's failure to cover tactical nukes. The S in START stands for "Strategic."
